Every year, wear it pink raises around £2 million during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, by asking people to wear something pink and donate whatever they can. Since the very first wear it pink event in 2002, they’ve raised over £27 million thanks to the generosity of many thousands of people taking part in approximately 7,093 schools, 39,964 workplaces and 8,256 homes and social venues.
We raise money for Breast Cancer Now
‘We use the money you raise to fund world-class research, by the brightest scientific minds, across the UK and Ireland. We actively encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing, and help our scientists and clinicians kick-start innovation. Together, they’re working to discover how to prevent breast cancer, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage so we can stop the disease taking lives.
We held our own British Bake off and asked our team to wear pink in exchange for a donation towards this Breast Cancer Now. The competition was rife, with over 12 entries the judges found it quite difficult to pick an over all winner!
By the end of the day we managed to raise an incredible £187.
